IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Frometa
April 4, 1954 – January 15, 2026
David Frometa, 71, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 15, 2026. He was born on April 4, 1954, in New York, where his life story began and where his values of hard work, loyalty, and love for family were deeply rooted.
David was a proud Cuban American who carried both his heritage and his country in his heart. He honored where he came from while fully embracing the life he built, and he spoke of both with pride.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Emily Medina. His greatest joy was being “abuelo” to his three grandchildren, Jaslene, Jeremiah, and Janelly Medina, whom he adored beyond measure. David also loved his "grandpuppies". He formed deep bonds with Emily's dogs, loving them as if they were his own. They were a constant source of happiness and humor in his life.
David was a man unafraid to feel deeply and express it openly. He made sure his family and friends always knew how much he loved them and how proud he was of who they were. Generosity defined him—if he had only one dollar to his name, he would give it to someone he loved without hesitation.
He enjoyed life’s simple and refined pleasures: a good game of chess, a challenging crossword puzzle, time spent with friends and family, a glass of good wine or rum, and fine dining shared with those he cared for. He was hardworking, kind, and a true gentleman—respectful, loyal, and sincere.
David’s smile could light up a room, and his warmth made people feel seen and valued. His heart was an open book, free of secrets, hidden feelings, or regrets. He lived honestly, loved fully, and left nothing unsaid.
David Frometa will be remembered for his unwavering love, his generosity of spirit, and the profound impact he had on all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through his daughter, his grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and open heart.
