David L. Hyre, 82, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, and lived in the Dayton area for many years before making Cape Coral his home in 2000.

David retired from Mound Lab after many years of service as a mechanical engineer. In later years, he continued serving others through his work as a realtor in Florida. He was also a life member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association and the National Rifle Association.

David is survived by his wife, Charyl (née Kirves) Hyre; his children, Jennifer Kurylowich and her husband, Christopher, and Jason Hyre; his stepson, R. Daniel Dearth; and his grandchildren, Ryan Carter, Cody Kurylowich, Evelyn Kurylowich, Coy Hyre, and Luke Hyre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynold and Katie (née Trent) Hyre, and his brother, Reynold Hyre Jr.

David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace. He is now able to reunite with those family and friends that have proceeded him in death all of which makes for a wonderful afterlife for him.
