David A Johnson, 93, passed away on July 25, 2023, in Sarasota, FL, after a long struggle with dementia. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in hospital administration which he completed after serving in the Army in Korea. David spent 26 years in Evansville, IN where he was the hospital administrator for Deaconess Hospital before retiring and moving to FL. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sarasota where he led a men's Bible Study Class prior to COVID.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce, four children Keith (Jennifer) of Huntsville, AL; Lisa (Marc) Bennett of Charlotte, NC; Kevin (Janice) of Timnath, CO; Lori (Tom) Smith of Hendersonville, TN. Seven grandchildren: Margaret Joyce, Emily, Graham (Sarah Elizabeth), Sarah Ann, Evan, Abby (Jurgen) & Brody (Megan). Five great grandchildren: Matthew, Jackson, Caden, Spenser & Alysia.

Private family service will be held at a later date at Sarasota Veteran's Cemetery.
