IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Leverett
June 11, 1957 – October 21, 2024
David Leverett, 67, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife, Claudine, and his loyal four-legged pal, Hoss. He leaves behind his mother, Marian Leverett; sister, Kim Johnson; brother, Robbie Leverett; mother-in-law Barbara Anderson; brother-in-law, Andy Johnson; sister-in-law, Diane Leverett; nephews, Michael and Joshua Cooper; niece, Alexis Johnson; as well as numerous cousins and great friends.
David was a certified auto mechanic and proudly owned a gutter cleaning business. He will be remembered for his genuine passion for "living the dream," helping others, and his deep love for hunting and fishing. To those who knew him, David was a true outdoorsman who found peace and joy in nature.
"The outdoors is where I will always be, with memories to cherish, for I was free. Getting up early to see the sun rise, trying to outsmart that wise old buck. Sitting in my tree stand or having a quiet lunch, it's these times I will miss so much. Most people will never truly value what us hunters see, but these memories will always stay with me. I leave this place leaving nothing to chance, I'll ask the Lord, 'May I have this dance?' I will now hunt and fish every day, for it is God's wish for me to stay. Don't cry or feel sad for me; I will be the one flying up in the sky for you all to see."
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 5:00 PM at First Baptist Church, located at 1000 E. 1st Ave., Mt. Dora, FL 32757.
In lieu of flowers, please remember David by spending time outdoors and treasuring nature's beauty as much as he did.
