David Rodney Hill's Obituary

HILL, David Rodney (“Dave”) age 84, residing in Maitland, FL (formerly of Brooksville, FL) passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He was born in Decorah, Iowa, August 20, 1941. He was a graduate of Waukon High School, Iowa, in 1959, he served in the US Air Force, and attended University of Tampa, Tampa, Florida.

Dave met his wife, Elizabeth D. (Liz) Most, while singing in the church choir together in Cheyenne, WY. They moved to Brooksville, FL, where they resided for 50 years.

He was a Real Estate Broker and founding member of First Lutheran Church. At First Lutheran, he was a member of the choir and men’s group, served on the council, and helped organize many church events.

Dave loved boating, traveling to Florida Keys during lobster season, and golfing. He enjoyed traveling with Liz throughout the United States in their motorhome, especially visiting the mountains in the fall to see the beautiful changing colors of the leaves and possibly a beautiful lighthouse. He also enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and spending time with family and friends,

Dave is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Hill, his parents, Sherman A. and Melba E Hill, He is survived by daughters, Marty Lea (Mark) Ratcliff, Michelle Lynn (Carl) Brown; grandchildren Cody Austin (Kimi) Brown, William Christopher (Alexandra) Brenner, Sarah Elizabeth (Blake) Klasing, and Justin Tyler (Lauren) Brown; great grandchildren, Alina Brown, and Caiden Brown; Brother, Steven M. (Jody) Hill.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation in Orlando (Baldwin Park).

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Allegro Senior Living, The Grove at Trelago Senior Living, and Hospice of Advent Health. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or any Hospice location or your choice.
