David K. Wright, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away November 20, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. David was born October 7, 1053, in San Antonio, TX, to William and Lois Wright. After graduating from the University Of Texas at San Antonio, David was commissioned in the Navy, April 1982; retiring after 30 years of service.  During his career, David earned two Masters' Degrees, along with numerous and various awards.  He was honored to have been the Afloat Commander of the USS Robert G. Bradley, followed by Command Ashore, Military Sealift Command, Naples, Italy. David loved serving God, his country and The United States Navy. David was preceded in death by his mother, Lois M. Wright. He is survived by his wife Betty, of New Smyrna Beach; son, Brian (Emily), of Killeen, TX; daughter, Kendall, of Richmond, VA and grandchildren, David, Lauren, Joshua and Ava. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Baldwin Brothers, New Smyrna Beach, FL.  Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., January 8, 2022 at Baldwin Brothers, 1 N Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169. Internment to be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
