Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dawn Marie Dakan, who left this world on June 26, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on January 1, 1963, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Dawn lived her life with a passion and vigor that touched everyone she met.

Dawn was the beloved daughter of Delores Graybeal and the late Eugene Graybeal. She is preceded in death by her father and cherished family members, including her grandparents, Eugene S. Graybeal I and Annie Graybeal, as well as her aunt, Patt Graybeal. She leaves behind a loving husband, Ricky Dakan; a devoted brother, Jason Wade Graybeal; and her pride and joy, her son, Logan Dakan.

Dawn was a remarkable woman whose greatest pride came from her family and her home. She was a devoted mother who cherished every moment spent with Logan, nurturing their bond through her love and support. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and happiness, where crafting, cooking, and sharing delightful meals were an extension of her vibrant personality.

An outspoken soul, Dawn always said what was on her mind, and her candidness was one of her most defining characteristics. Her friends and family remembered her for her infectious laughter and her ability to bring people together. In addition to her role as a dedicated mother and wife, Dawn was actively involved in her community, serving as a cook for the youth teams of the Eagles Football and Basketball at Souls Harbor Pentecostal Church. She was a member of since 1992 and taught preschool in the beginning years of her fellowship. This involvement showcased her love for children and her commitment to fostering a nurturing environment for the younger generation.

Dawn's hobbies included crafting, shopping, cooking, and traveling, pursuits that filled her life with joy and creativity. She had an undeniable passion for exploration and a talent for making every experience memorable, whether through a simple family gathering or an adventurous journey.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate Dawn's life on July 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Souls Harbor Pentecostal Church. Family and friends are invited to come together, share their memories, and honor the incredible woman that Dawn was.

Though her physical presence will be missed, Dawn's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. As we gather to remember her life, let us carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and the joy of living life to the fullest. Rest in peace, dear Dawn. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
