Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Dawna Renee Beauchamp, who departed this life on May 23, 2025, at the age of 45, in Fort Myers, Florida surrounded by her loving family. Dawna was born on September 3, 1979, in Frederick, Maryland, to Ann and Dwayne Beauchamp. Her journey, marked by warmth, kindness, and an infectious spirit, touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Dawna's educational journey culminated in her graduation from Rock Creek School in 2001. With an unwavering dedication to her work, she was employed by the Scott Key Center from 2001 until 2019, where she made significant contributions to her community and touched the lives of many.
Though Dawna faced challenges in life, her spirit was indomitable. She will be especially remembered for her love of music, dancing, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. A devoted aunt, Dawna cherished her role as "Aunt DD" to her beloved nephew, Kyle Matthew Beauchamp, and niece, Shy Elizabeth Beauchamp.
Dawna was a vibrant individual who embraced life fully. She loved spending quality time shopping and dining out with her partner in fun, Carla Malik. Their shared adventures, laughter, and camaraderie will be deeply missed. Dawna's love for music, particularly artists like Michael Bolton and Luke Bryan, brought joy to her days, as did her passion for concerts and traveling to new destinations. She found delight in getting her hair and nails done, always presenting herself with grace and style.
Dawna's legacy will continue through her cherished family members. She is survived by her maternal grandmother, Alma Dade; paternal grandparents, Charles and Betty Beauchamp; brother Matthew Beauchamp and his significant other, Kathleen Hannemann; as well as her nephew, Kyle, and niece, Shy. She is also remembered fondly by her special aunt, Julie, and uncle, James Reynolds; aunts and uncles, Jamelyn Snoots and Jeremy Davis, Cheryl and David Boyd, Deanna and Brad Young, Charles and Mary Beauchamp, and step-aunt Vickie Dade.
Dawna is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Snoots; maternal step-grandfather, Stanley Dade; maternal great-grandmother, Hulda Holter; paternal grandmother, Judy Cooper; paternal great-grandmother, Ellen Cooper; paternal aunt, Tracy Beauchamp; paternal uncle, Brian Snoots; and step-uncle, Joseph Dade.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Dawna's memory to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program, or the Frederick County Maryland Special Olympics.
Dawna Renee Beauchamp will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her kindness, laughter, and love for life will forever remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we remember Dawna, let us carry forward her legacy of compassion and joy, celebrating the beautiful life she lived.
A private graveside service for family only will be held. A Celebration of Life is currently being planned.
