Deborah “Debbie” Peters, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Joliet, Illinois, Debbie later lived in Key West and eventually Port Orange, Florida, where she built a life with the people she loved.

Debbie was openhearted, easy to talk to and genuinely cared for the people in her life. Family was at the center of her world, and she had a special way of making people feel included. She also appreciated the simple things—watching a Marlins game, getting an iced coffee and spending an ordinary day with the people she loved. More than anything, Debbie will be remembered for the love she gave her family, her welcoming nature, her quick-witted sense of humor and the kindness she showed wherever life took her.

She shared a lifelong love with her husband, Rick Peters. They were each other’s first and only love, building a life together filled with closeness, laughter, family and countless memories.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Peters; her children, Richard Peters and Kiera Tautkus; her grandchildren, Richard Peters Jr., Elliot Tautkus and Isabella Peters; and her siblings, Deloris Hernandez, Judy Miranda, Donald Hensley Jr., Cindy Rein and Sandra Peters.

She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Peters.
