Deborah Taylor, age 85, passed away peacefully on March 19th at Tidewell Hospice House alongside her longtime companion, Eugene Davis, her children and one of her many grandchildren.
Deborah was born in Newburyport, MA on August 14,1940, a daughter of the late Richard and Doris McGinley. She raised her children in Billerica, MA before heading south to Florida.
Besides her long time companion, Gene Davis, she is survived by her children, Stephen Smith and his wife Denise, Kim Casey and her husband Michael and Scott Smith and his wife Ann, all of Billerica, MA; Michelle McCarthy and her husband Kevin of Kensington, NH; Leroy Smith and his wife Timothea of Dover, NH. Deborah is also survived by her ten grandchildren Richard Smith (“Duke”), Jacqueline Smith (“Princess”), Samantha Smith (“Angel”), Jonathan Smith (“Prince”), Jamie Harvey (“Little Pumpkin”) and her husband Andrew, Matthew Smith (“King”), Alexander Casey (“Champion”), Lauren Smith (“Queen”), Christian Smith (“Earl”), Anna Smith (“Duchess”) as well as her only great grandchild, Wrenley Smith, and we can not forget her loving cat, Baby. She is survived by her brother Richard and Pat McGinley of Minnesota. She was the sister of the late Sally and Paul Domenico of Clinton MA, Carol Gillingham of Cotati, CA and Kim McGinley and Rudy of Sausalito CA.
Prior to her retirement, Deborah worked in various positions in the banking and insurance industry. Upon retiring she filled her days as a caregiver to friends in surrounding communities, forming lasting relationships with many.
Deborah found great joy in quilting and knitting, creating beautiful handmade pieces that will be treasured by her family for years to come. Her creativity and care were reflected in every stitch, each a symbol of her love, bestowing upon her many awards and accolades. She was an active member of the Venice Quilters Guild, Sunshine Quilt Guild, and Disconnected Piecers Quilt Guild. She also enjoyed her cups of tea, reading, the beach, playing games especially, Spite & Malice with her daughters.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
