IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Denis Jacques
Rondeau
April 9, 1941 – February 21, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Denis Rondeau on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his winter home in Florida, in his 85th year.
Denis was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elaine (January 9, 2013), whose memory remained close to his heart every day. He was also predeceased by his parents, Emile and Lillian Rondeau, and his sisters, Lina Mathieu and Claudette Rondeau (Lavoie).
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his children, Marc (Siobhan) and Lina (Ralph Frondella), and by his five grandchildren — Liam, Madeleine, Declan, Renee, and Lillian — who brought him immense pride and joy. Nothing mattered more to Denis than his family. They were the centre of his world and the source of his greatest happiness.
Denis spent 30 years working at Ford Motor Company of Canada in Oakville, where he served as an active union representative, always looking out for his fellow workers. In his own way, he contributed to the evolution of positive labour-management relationships, taking pride in standing up for others and ensuring their voices were heard.
In retirement, Denis embraced life fully, enjoying 35 vibrant years, including many cherished winters in Florida. In both Ontario and Cape Coral, he formed lasting friendships and was part of close-knit communities. The family extends heartfelt thanks to his many friends and neighbours in both places for the companionship, kindness, and care they shared with him over the years.
He was truly larger than life — a man who could light up a room with his humour, always ready with a joke, yet equally ready to listen or lend a helping hand. A true jack of all trades, Denis had an uncanny ability to fix just about anything, often becoming the go-to person for friends, neighbours, and family alike.
Denis was a man of conviction who never hesitated to share his opinions — even when others may not have been quite ready to hear them. He loved deeply, showed up without hesitation, and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He believed that life was meant to be lived fully and that those whose lives he touched should make the most of their own journey.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place in Florida.
Denis and his family held a deep appreciation for the exceptional care and compassion shown by Ian Anderson House, Ontario’s first residential hospice, which provided thoughtful, around-the-clock support to his beloved wife, Elaine, in her final days. The dignity, comfort, and humanity they offer to individuals and families leave a lasting impact.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Denis’ memory to Ian Anderson House, in support of families navigating end-of-life care, would be greatly appreciated. Donations may be made at www.ianandersonhouse.com.
Denis would have wanted nothing more than a true celebration — one filled with joy, laughter, and the sharing of good memories. The family invites all who knew and loved him to honour his life in that spirit.
