Dennis U. Ahola, a veteran of the Vietnam War and longtime resident of Otisville, MI, passed away on October 25, 2021 surrounded by family. Dennis was born January 11, 1949 to Urho and Susie Ahola and attended Grand Blanc High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. As a helicopter door gunner and military policeman (sergeant) for the Army, Dennis saw action in Vietnam, and he had many amazing stories of his time there.
The U.S. Army recognized Dennis for his honorable service with many metals, including two Purple Hearts for injuries sustained through heroic actions in the war.
After the war, Dennis returned home and later married Sandra Seidell on June 10, 1978. Together, they built a respectable networking business and enjoyed traveling the country. Additionally, Dennis was an electrician at General Motors, offered his services as a reserve police officer, and obtained the Amateur Extra Class ham radio license.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. He's survived by his wife, Sandra Seidell-Ahola, sister Lavada Ahola-Lapolla, daughter Shannon (Dexter) Ahola-Meeks, son Derek (Tracy) Ahola, and son Brady (Shaina) Ahola, as well as eight grandchildren. His family has organized a "Celebration of Life" memorial service to honor Dennis' life and military service, which will be held at Vision Pointe Assembly of God in Otisville, MI on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Visitation 10:00am and service at 12:00pm.
