Dennis Larkin Pilliteri, 82, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on March 7, 2026.
Born on October 25, 1943, in Fair Lawn, NJ, Dennis is predeceased by his father, Anthony “Tippy” Pilliteri and mother, Irene DeBlock (nee Sverduk) and stepfather, Abe DeBlock.
A cherished husband, Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Pilliteri (nee Faro). He is also survived by his sisters, Joyce Posada (nee Pilliteri) of Punta Gorda, FL and Jan Dussek (nee DeBlock) of Glendale, AZ, his daughter, Dawn Hogsett (nee Pilliteri) and her husband, Kevin Hogsett of Fair Lawn, NJ, in addition to serval cousins, nieces and nephews and friends who loved him deeply.
Dennis was an accomplished tennis pro, known for his competitive spirit and remarkable skill. He competed at the state level, won multiple championship titles, and ranked among the top‑seeded players in his division.
Before retiring to Florida, Dennis served as the Director of Tennis at Quest Tennis Academy, where he instructed both children and adults with the same competitive excellence he brought to his own career. His influence extended far beyond the court, leaving a lasting legacy in the players he developed.
Outside of tennis, Dennis was an enthusiast of classic cars, with a special fondness for Corvettes, and he cherished the open road on his Harley‑Davidson. He also had a spirited love for karaoke, a hobby that showcased his fun‑loving nature and brought joy to everyone around him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Greenwood Lake, NY.
