Diana Hope Hoover, 72, peacefully passed away June 28,2024 at her home in Venice, Florida.  She was born on December 19,1951 in Richmond, VA.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph "Monk" and Lillian G. Hoover, and her brother and his wife George M. and Ruby D. Hoover. Leaving to cherish her memory is her wife of 42 years, Rebecca "Becky" Darden Lee and her brother's children, Susan Palmer and Kristin (James) Richardson and their families; her mother-in-law, Martha C. Lee, sisters-in-law, Kathy (Tom) Queen, Natalie (Drew) Coronas, and Marti (Brian) Scott and their families.

Diana grew up in Richmond, graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1969 and Virginia Commonwealth University in 1973 with a degree in Recreational Therapy. Her first career was with the Virginia Correctional Center for Women, where she served as Recreation Director. She retired from the US Postal Service. She and Becky moved to Florida in 2020.

Diana had a zest for life which was reflected in her many home renovations and decorating projects and all things "DIY." She did not live in a beige world but a world of color and movement. As a stained-glass artisan she expressed her world through her works. She maintained and cherished many life-long friendships. Some of her most special times were spent  at the "Rivah," combing for shark's teeth on Venice beach, and loving on her pets. Those who knew her would describe her as a force. When she wanted something, she worked hard  to make it happen. When she was faced with a challenge, she critically thought it through until she arrived at an appropriate conclusion.

While living in Richmond she worshipped and served as Senior Warden of the Vestry at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. In Florida, she continued to attended weekly services there via ZOOM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 520 Arthur Ashe Blvd., Richmond, VA 23220 for their ZOOM ministry.

A memorial service will be held in Richmond, VA at St. Mark's Episcopal, her home church, at a  date to be determined.
