Diane Mary Manney's Obituary

Diane was so incredibly lovable, she had many friends who she entertained with on Caribbean cruises over the years. She enjoyed living in Arizona and seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time! She adopted a keen trait for decorating her home and valued the simplicity of protecting photographs.

A zest for celebrating traditional holidays, a fan of the Superbowl Kansas City Chiefs and taking time every day to view the beautiful Floridian sunsets, while listening to her favorite Frank Sinatra collection of music, The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand and long-lived Elvis’ songs.

In her young adult years, she was a creative, aspiring actress on stage & Broadway and a fashionable singer in NYC and rehearsal clubs; before devoting her time to being a full time, doting mother and wife.

Her career then spanned into decades within the travel industry and aligning herself at a significant place with the Dallas Cowboys NFL team by securing corporate travel for many celebrities.

Ultimately, she was our "shining bright star" in our family and shared her glowing heart on every occasion! She will be greatly missed chatting about the morning news over coffee, scrambled eggs and cinnamon toast. Diane was famous in her family for making her one-of-a-kind meatloaf dish and buttery mashed potatoes every holiday!

Generous, happy-go-lucky, a great reader of Danielle Steel novels, there was never a day where she didn't have her pink lipstick on just right and a turquoise manicure and pedicure. Quite the lady, she patiently listened to her children with the most beautiful green eyes, sweet smile and always reminded them to have manners at the dining room table.

She adored the beach with extended family members, seeking seashells, at the New Jersey shore, seeing cardinals, dolphins and spontaneous butterflies--which she always felt were messengers or guides from heaven.

Diane never forgot a birthday or anniversary and was always thoughtful with sending greeting cards in the mail and making phone calls. Those who knew her dearly got her sense of humor and her ideas.

Diane's laugh was contagious and so were her dance moves. Authentically, she was a natural conversationalist, with close friends at her pool, staying present in the moment--sharing fun times wholeheartedly enjoying the live bands and therapeutic company she thrived to surround herself in daily.

She is survived by husband Thomas G. Manney; children Melinda (Charles) Manney-Goodman, son Luke (Belinda) Manney; grandsons Chase, Duke, and Marcus Manney; brother Paul (Patty) Langan; nieces; nephews; cousins; aunts; uncles; and all the dogs were truly her most treasured and precious joys!

In lew of herself she was an advocate for St. Jude Children's Hospital and Historic Lighthouse Preservation. In addition, she was a patriotic woman who frequented special Veterans events in The Villages which she supported with her enduring husband Tom of 59 years.

Her favorite flowers are the Lily, the Rose and the Iris. Furthermore, she believed in faith over fear, quiet evenings with her cat on her lap and admiring the peaceful moon with the love of her life, husband Tom.

Diane exemplified courage, wisdom to her grandsons, while gathering such an unconditional love for her family that ultimately will carry on forever in spirituality, divine connections, gentleness, serendipity and grace.
