Dolores Damato, age 85, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 21, 2026, in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Dolores is survived by her children Maria Fredericks, Antonio Damato and his fiancé Donna Ezzo. Grandchildren, Nicolette, Gianna, Emily, Jason, Domenico, Luciano, Lorenzo, and Vivianna, 2 great grandchildren, Miah & Matthew, a brother John and a sister, Marie.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Lorenzo Damato, a grandson Nikolas, and brothers Nicholas and Michael.

Dolores was born on July 11, 1941 in Paterson, New Jersey to parents Dominick and Madeline Carone. She graduated from East Side High School in Paterson, New Jersey.

Dolores was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She and Lorenzo married in 1964 and the couple had two children together.

Dolores was a social, active woman who was deeply rooted in her catholic faith and a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo, vacations with family and her grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind, loving person.

A Catholic funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday August 5th, 2026, 10 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Haskell, New Jersey. All are welcome to come and celebrate Dolores’s life. The family would like to thank Moffitt Cancer Center of Tampa and Florida Cancer Specialists of Port Charlotte for their care.
