IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dominic Francis
Cicio
February 1, 1952 – June 11, 2025
Dominic Francis Cicio, age 73, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on June 11, 2025. His love for his family was only surpassed by the love for his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, where he met his wife of 51 years. Early in their marriage, they settled in New Jersey where they raised their family. Never one to stay still, Dominic worked a full-time job in insurance sales in New York City and still found time to serve his local community as a police officer, contractor, and volunteer emergency management coordinator and SPCA officer.
He loved to play cards and drink bourbon. His love of poker inspired him to coordinate the weekly games at Trilogy, Orlando, bringing a group of friends together and creating a community space for all.
Television was another love. One memorable highlight was when the Neilson ratings company chose his household to have a ratings box. He was so excited that his viewing choices would count towards national rating numbers and was only disappointed to learn that he would only have two years to "vote" for his favorite shows. He made the most out of those two years, through reruns of The Andy Griffith Show never made it back into the top ten again.
He and his wife were regulars at the Renaissance Hotel and Resort in Aruba where they spent two weeks every year for nearly 3 decades.
Upon retirement, he and his wife fulfilled their long talked about dream and moved to Florida. They found a wonderful community in Trilogy, Orlando. His personality shined brightly to the end of his life, where he embraced his final journey with humor, acceptance, and love.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene, his daughter Maria, son Dominic, sister Donna and brother John.
A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont, Florida on Wednesday June 18, 2025, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation https://cornerstonehospice.org/the-foundation/ .
