Life Celebration for Donald "Bart" Bartholomew, 73, Port Orange FL who died Sunday, May 1, 2011 will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach. Bart was born in Hudson, NY. He served in the National Guard and worked for many years as a Corrections Officer for the State of New York. He retired to Port Orange in 1996 from Utica, NY. He held lifetime memberships in C.H. Evans Hook and Ladder in Hudson and Schuyler Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed memberships in Churchtown Rod and Gun Club, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 450 in Marcy, NY and was active with AMVETs Post 911in Port Orange. His family remembered his love for hunting, fishing, hockey and making pickles and jellies which they all enjoyed. His passion was his family who he enjoyed most. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 38 years Mary-Ellin, children Donna (James) Peck, Sherri (Paul) Hanson, Julie Otty, Jonathan (Rhubelynn) Bartholomew, Joshua (Michelle) Bartholomew, daughters-in-law  Andrea Bartholomewand Barbara Bartholomew, sisters Gloria Hollenbeck, Janice Day, Barbara McCagg, Carol Kosnick, 17 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons Donald and Thomas and his brother Tommy Bartholomew.
