Don transitioned from this world to the next on April 16, 2026. He is survived by his daughter, Mattison Carter; sisters, Denise Zarelli, Barbara Blackton, Tris Filliez (Tom); nephew, Chuckie; nieces, Cheryl (Dave), Cody (Stephen), Dannielle (Kevin); great-nephews, Brady and Logan; and great-nieces, Charli and Vera. He is remembered as a loving brother and a devoted father.

He was born April 9, 1959 in Canton, Ohio and grew up on Lake Sarah in College Park, Orlando. After graduating from Edgewater High School in 1977, he worked as a server at Rosie O’Grady’s and made lifelong friends. Don became a bartender and his customers followed him to several Orlando establishments. He turned his own interest in finding deals at flea markets into a successful side business. He was a sports enthusiast cheering for the Cleveland Indians, the Browns and the Orlando Magic. He loved golfing with his friends, often at Dubsdread.

His family would like to thank everyone who made his life richer and the past few months bearable: friends who called, visited and brought a poker game to his hospital room; the hospital staff of Advent Orlando and the Advent Hospice team. No services are planned at this time.
