Donald A Castile of Bokelia FL passed away at home at age 98 on April 24th.

Don was born in Detroit Michigan to Arthur and Hazel Castile on May 10th 1927. He attended Detroit public school and graduated with the very first class of Aero Mechanics Vocational High School in 1946. He was a veteran and served in the Army as a paratrooper.

He married Helen on June 27th 1986 at Lake Tahoe Nevada. They were sweethearts for almost 40 years.

He had a long career as a plane captain piloting DC8s for Transamerica Airlines and others. He logged 24,000 hours flying time doing what he loved best. He took off and landed in 212 different airports outside of the USA.

After retiring he enjoyed golfing, volunteer work, boating and fishing, poker and traveling. He was also a proud member of the Quiet Birdmen, an association of pilots.

Don is survived by his wife Helen T Castle, and three daughters: Cheryl Younger (husband Greg), Laurie Castile, and Donna Danvers (husband Chris). He has two grandchildren: Justin Epstein (wife Adrienne), and Shanna Epstein, and two great grandchildren: Abigail and Summer, and his sister Marlilyn Lockwood.

The family appreciates the love and support of all who knew him, and the support and comfort from Hope Hospice. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
