Donald G. Fleischhauer, 84, died unexpectedly June 9, 2020 at his home in Dunnellon Fl. He was born May 31, 1936 in Kendall NY, the son of Roy and Viola (Rappenecker)Fleischhauer of Kendall NY
Don joined the army at the age of 17 where he finished his schooling and served during the Korean War. During his last year of service he played baseball for his Military Unit. He remained a devoted American who would stand for the National Anthem with pride in his heart and tears in his eyes.
Don worked for the US Postal Service in Hilton for 15 years, then for 25 plus years at Sodexo as a manager for a Vending team that he loved as brothers. He loved to golf, fix things, (after he broke them) he was an avid sports fan, and he loved to take road trips with his friends, family and his loving dog, Rosie.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Robert, and two sisters, Nancy and Evelyn and his oldest daughter Sheryl (Bower) and her husband Mike. (Bower) His first wife Frances (Hayness) and his second wife of 51 years Arlean (Doolittle).
Survived by his wife,Jean, of 9 joyful days, Jean Pangaro Fleischhauer (Allen, Nick and Terry Pangaro) Survived by his children Glen, (Bonnie) Fleischhauer, Keith (Vicky) Fleischhauer Julie (Bob) Olesky, Terry, (Rick) Bower and Donna (Sonny) Veal. Sandra (Sam) Piazza, Gayle (Steve) Carroll, Patricia Brodie. His sisters Joan, Linda and Patty.
Don had 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and friends. Everyone loved and respected Don and his many years of wisdom and travel. His favorite saying was "Do what makes you happy, follow your heart and keep the past in the past." He will be remembered as the ""Mayor" (Brett), "Donnie 3's"(camping) "Baby Blues" (camping) and " the best dancing partner ever "(Sarah). None of us will ever forget "The German Music CD" Don is not gone…Just away. He will be in our hearts forever. The family would like to invite every one to the Bushnell Veterans Cemetery for a full military honors burial and a celebration of life. You will be notified. Also, a heartfelt thank you to David and Linda Beatty for all your help and love.
