Donald Merle Goodyear, 92, of Sarasota, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Born February 18, 1929 in Canton, Ohio, he was a son of the late Albert and Eva (Misere) Goodyear. He was married for 36 years to the late Edithmae (Edie) Goodyear. Mr. Goodyear served over 21 years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He is survived by four sisters; Lonnie Blasko, Mary DeChiara, Phyllis Eckley, and Linda Goodyear. He was preceded in death by three brothers; James, Robert and Jerry Goodyear; three sisters, Loretta Hunt, Norma Jean Mehalik, and Betty Martin-Cutlet. Interment will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on March 18, 2022 at 11 am.
