Donald Robert (Donnie) Hansher, 87, a resident of Venice, Florida since 2017, formerly of Hughesville, Maryland passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 3, 1935 in Lincoln, Nebraska to the late James and Irma (Headrick) Hansher.

Donald, a welder with the Steamfitters Local Union No. 602, enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, race cars, and all animals small or large. He was very skillful with his hands and could build or remodel all aspects of a home of which he did for many family members.

Donald is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Mary Hansher of Venice, Florida; one daughter, Debbie Smith (Harry) of Venice, FL; two grandchildren, Brie Bridgett (Bruce) and Maris Smith; three great grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn, and Marley; as well as two sisters Bonnie Stevens and Peggy Mello (Joseph) of Maryland and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 with family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, Florida 34238, Attention Philanthropy Department.
