Donna Heidenreich passed away peacefully on September 28th surrounded by her family. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed. She always had a kind word and warm smile for everyone she met. Her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren was a driving force in everything she did. As her grandchildren will say, Nana never missed an opportunity to make a special memory with them. The elaborate birthday celebrations that she hosted for family and friends, complete with beautiful, handcrafted cakes and decorations, were the talk of the town. Donna was a passionate ballroom dancer. She could be found at many local events and competitions sharing her love for dance with others. Her favorite dances were Cha-Cha and Swing dancing. A lifelong animal lover, Donna was an advocate for no-kill animal shelters. She committed significant time to campaigning her local community to improve conditions for animals being housed in shelters. Born in Hammond, Indiana, Donna was a 1969 graduate of Oliver P Morton High School. She attended Indiana University where she pursued a business degree. She went on to become the business manager for law firm, a position she held for 32 years. She married her loving husband, Jim, in 2008 and retired to the Villages where they spent 12 wonderful years together. She is survived by her loving husband, James Heidenreich. Her children, Bryan (Susan) Harasty, and Michael (Heather) Harasty, Her step-children Brittany (Nick) Zaccagnini and Tyler (Stephanie) Heidenreich. Her grandchildren, Ayden, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Willa, Max, Gavin, Owen and Gwen. Her sister, Barbara (Yale) Resnick, nieces Dawn (Ron) Murray, and Sherri (Russell) Brummett, her six great nieces and nephews, and beloved pup, Buddy. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Betty Tussey and brother, James Buchanan. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life is being planned in her honor.
