Donna J. Scott passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. Donna J. Short Scott was born June 3, 1949, in Elwood, Indiana, the daughter of J. Edwin Short and Dorothy P. Aaron Short. She lived in Tipton, Indiana before moving with her family to Pinellas County, Florida in 1963. After graduating from Dixie Hollins High School, St. Petersburg, FL she married Daniel Scott and raised her three children, had a career, and graduated college. Donna retired from Paradyne several years ago and relocated to Ocala, where she enjoyed her retirement with her many cherished friends, Mary, Debbie, Ann, Amy, Bonnie, and numerous others. She enjoyed quilting, making many crafts, and playing cards.

Donna leaves behind a legacy of many good deeds, including crocheting caps for newborn and premature babies at All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL, and crocheted afghans for the homeless, quilting blankets for Toys for Tots and the animal shelters, Ocala.

Donna was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Scott, Jr. and her husband, Daniel Scott, Sr.

Donna is survived by her loving daughter, Wendy Short, and son, Kenneth Scott, both of St. Petersburg, FL, grandchildren, Brody Whiteside and Carys Whiteside, both of St. Petersburg, brothers, James Short, Tampa, and Earl Short , Ocala, sisters, Bonnie Short, Kokomo, Indiana, Kathie Hedger, Royal Center, Indiana, Sue Lowe, Peru, Indiana , and Tammy Decker, Houston, Texas, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her.
