Doris Jones-Baxter, 73, of Elkhart, Indiana passed peacefully on March 14, 2023 in her Florida winter home. She is survived by her husband George L Baxter, daughters Darcey Thomas (Donald), Daneen Bilodeau (Timothy), her sister Dorothy Servant, step daughter Tammy Bayer, step son George M Baxter, grandchildren Shawanda Landfair, Safire Grissinger, Sierra Coulahan, and Serenity Shepherd, Tara Bayer, Merrit Baxter, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband David W. Jones, and her mother Elizabeth Peterson, father Angus Peterson, and granddaughter Vanessa Bayer.

Doris was a home maker and super mom until David Jones passed in 2004 when she started working at Carpenter Co. She worked in the consumer, shopline and QC departments before leaving to enjoy retired life with then husband George Baxter. Together they enjoyed travel to Sturgis, SD and Daytona, FL before they became snow birds in Fort Meyers, FL. Doris was a great quilter and sewer. She was very generous, kind, and extremely witty. She was loved by so many friends and will be missed. Doris loved bourbon of any kind and even some wines.
