It brings us great sadness to announce that Dorothea Clare Mehl passed away early Sunday morning, April 5, 2024, in Clearwater, Florida. She was 90 years old.

Dot was born in Brooklyn to Daniel J. Devanie and Anna C. Higgins. And there she lived on Park Place until her much-beloved Brooklyn Dodgers left the borough. Continuing on in Queens, she worked for the NYC Board of Education as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement in 1990.

She then started the next chapter in her life, snowbirding between Tarpon Springs, Florida and New York's Catskill Mountains, eventually settling year-round in Florida.

Dot is survived by her son Stephen, daughter-in-law Carol, and her deeply adored granddaughter Sophia, as well as three nieces, Mary, Elizabeth, and Lori, and a nephew, Robert.

She will be greatly missed.
