Dottie Arms, age 80, of Winter Park, Florida passed away on December 21, 2023, at Winter Park Hospital after a courageous 30-year fight with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dave, their children David, Jeffrey, and Nancy Maisenholder (Bob), and five grandchildren including Corey Arms, Abby and Allison Maisenholder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion (Ellsworth) and Hazel Wildman and sister, Patty Payne.

Dottie was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and was a proud graduate of North High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University. She will be missed and remembered by numerous friends from this period in her life including her Pi Beta Phi sisters. She loved the Buckeyes and especially the band.

A dedicated Navy wife, Dottie was the veteran of more than a dozen military moves and made friends at every port-of-call. Dottie became adept at making a home for Dave, their three children, and the ever present Boston Terrier (eight in total throughout the years). In 1993, she and Dave retired to Winter Park, Florida where they could enjoy the warm weather that she loved so much. After settling into their permanent home, Dottie made sure to keep in touch with family and friends. She made it known to all that the Arms' Boarding House was open for business.

Visitation will be held on January 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park followed by a Funeral service at 11:00 am. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1995, Dottie was a passionate advocate for support of cancer patients and cancer research. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Susan G.
