Obituary

On the morning of October 4 th , 2023, beloved wife, mother, and friend Dorothy left us suddenly and peacefully in her sleep.

She is survived by her loving husband Roger, daughter Jennifer, son Christopher, and grand pets.

Dorothy was born in 1940.  Growing up in the golden time of the Empire City, she enjoyed ice skating, dancing, working, and living with her mother until a fateful holiday on a tropical island where her broken down moped brought her together with the heroic policeman who would become the love of her life.

The family spent their formative years in the beautiful Garden State making lifelong friendships and fond memories. Raising their children with patience, guidance, and the gift of time.

When the nest was empty, the forever loving couple treated themselves to a home in warm, beautiful Lake County where family and friends would gather and enjoy a well-earned retirement.

Everyone who knew her felt joy in her presence and she taught her family immeasurable skills. She taught us to love unconditionally, cook confidently, laugh loudly; and how to keep a home bright, organized, and spotless.  Also, how to put yourself aside sometimes to help others (among countless other things!)

Her legacy is a life full of laughter, song, and dance – charades, family dinners, kindness, generosity, and loving memories.

May the flights of angels, butterflies, and hummingbirds take you to heaven; dearest Mama.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you send her a prayer and do something kind.  Her request was to not have a funeral.

If you are moved to make a donation in her memory, charities she supported include, the ASPCA and Tunnels to Towers .

Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society.
