Dorothy Hoffer-Ross, 85, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, in Ocala, Florida.  She was born on January 4, 1938, in Penbrook, PA, she moved to Florida in 1980.

Dorothy was an insurance professional always ready with advice and guidance.  She had a passion for baking, decorating cakes, making excellent pies, being a talented seamstress, and crocheting beautifully.  She was known for her creativity and talent, which extended beyond her hobbies.  Dorothy was an excellent cook and took great pride in making holidays magical for her family.  She loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Above all she was a person of strong faith, always wanting to follow God's guiding words.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Dewese (Cedric), Therese Chin, Katie Predmore (Bruce), and her son, Jay Hoffer Jr (Ana), and many grand and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Jay Hoffer Sr., later by a second husband, Grady Ross, and by her parents, John and Dorothy Hendrickson, as well as her sisters Patricia Freeburn (Paul), and Joan Blosser (Walter), and brother John Hendrickson (Joan).

A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held May 13 ^th at 1:00 PM at First Christian Church, 1908 E. Ft King St, Ocala, FL 34471.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Christian Church or Brother's Keeper, 320 NW 10th St, Ocala, FL 34470.
