Dorothy attended to Southern Seminary Junior College and later moved to NSB in the early 40s. She worked in her parent's glass factory, Eclipse Glass on Canal Street.

On June 6, 1946, she married Max R. Kreis. They ran Max Kreis Real Estate and Insurance at 224 Flagler Ave until his death and her retirement. She also taught real estate classes.

She loved travel and her family.

She was active in her local Beta Sigma Phi chapter where she held many offices over the years, including President.

Survivors  include her 3 children, Bonnie Jacobs (Erick), Rick Kreis (Dory) and John Kreis (Anne), two grandchildren, Ryan Kreis and Matthew Kreis and one great granddaughter, Riley.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
