Obituary

Dorothy “Dot” May Pohano, 89, of Apopka, Florida, passed peacefully surrounded by love. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Albert and Emma Flanders, Dot carried her family’s strength, humor, and devotion throughout her life.

A proud business owner, Dot ran “Dottie’s Country Kitchen,” where her warmth and generosity made everyone feel at home. For more than 30 years, she was a devoted member of the Pentecostals of Apopka, grounding her life in faith, service, and a deep love for Jesus.

Dot was preceded in death by beloved family members grandson Brandon Fagan, Father Albert Flanders, Mother and Stepfather William and Emma Saunders, and her sister Grace Wytopka.

She is survived by her spouse, Lawrence Pohano Sr., daughters Deborah Graham, Kim and Terry Griffin, Sherry and Dick Rosen, and Lauren Lei Lani Pohano; sons Patrick and Gina Fagan, and Lawrence and Liz Pohano Jr. Dot’s legacy continues through her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Dot will be reunited with her beloved spouse Lawrence at sea, honoring their enduring bond.

Dot loved children and was loved by many. Her passion for Jesus guided her life, and her happiest moments were spent at celebrations and family gatherings. She had a gift for making people laugh with her hilarious antics, and her beautiful blue eyes were unforgettable to everyone who met her.

Her life was one of faith, joy, resilience, and love — and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to shine brightly.
