Our dear mother Dorothy Laverne Vogt, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025 after a long full life. Dorothy was born on August 20, 1928 to Marie and William Cronquist in Chicago, IL. As a young adult, she worked as a keyboard operator for the Rock Island Railroad. She married the love of her life, Edward Richard Vogt on May 26, 1951 and they raised two daughters, Linda and Karen Sue.

Dorothy had a passion for creating a loving home where wonderful food and beautiful peonies from her garden were on display. She enjoyed working from her heart and her hands with talent in sewing, knitting, decorating, crafts, gardening and cooking. Mom loved cross country skiing and golf. Mom served her community through a philanthropic sorority and as a hospital volunteer.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law (Randall Weghorst) and her grandson (Keith Weghorst). She is survived by her daughters, son-in-law (David Beerbower) 4 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church chapel in Winter Park Florida on August 26, 2025.
