Dorothy J. Yencik, 83, of Orlando Florida died Monday, April 27th 2026 at her family home in the Vista Lakes area of Orlando, Florida.

Born November 27, 1942 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Arthur and Arminta Kuropkat and the sister of Robert Kuropkat.

Dorothy graduated from Bradford High school in Bradford, Pennsylvania in 1959, Wilkesboro Business School in 1961 and she attended night classes at Jamestown Community College in Olean New York in pursuit of her degree in Business Management.

She worked at the New York State Social Services Department in Olean, New York as a Data Entry Supervisor for 20 years and then Den-Tex Central, Inc. corporate office in San Antonio, Texas as an administrative assistant for 12 years.

Dorothy was an avid hunter in New York and Pennsylvania with her father and in Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Wyoming with her brother. She was also an excellent creative quilter making numerous quilts for family and friends. Her love for rescue animals was evident with love for her dogs Dollar, Penny and Winston.

She is survived by her son Gregory A. and wife Elena Schmick of Madera, California, daughter Melissa A. and husband Blake Sabia of Bradenton, Florida and her son Michael A. Schmick and husband Julio C. Jimenez of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Mayra Ramirez, Priscilla Gradilla, Alex Morehouse and Genesis Schmick and her four great grandchildren; Lali Ramirez, Maleah Ramirez, Breanna Crouch and Luna Chia.

Services will take place at the convenience of the family.
