Douglas John DeRuisseau 81, of Venice, Florida passed away on August 21, 2024, at home after a long illness. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Doug is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Connors) DeRuisseau. His children: Scott (wife Carla), Lauren (husband Jimmy), Craig (wife Helen) and Keith (wife Lara) and loving niece Lauren Diamond (husband Russell). He had 5 grandchildren and 2 great children. He was born in Lawrence, MA, the son of the late Raymond and Alice (Cashman) DeRuisseau.

Doug graduated from Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont, in 1964, with a bachelor's degree in political science.

Doug had 2 very distinguished careers. He was an executive with AT&T for 27 years. He then went onto work for Social Accountability International, a global non-governmental organization, where he was the Director of Training. He provided SA8000 training on advance human rights in the workplace. He delivered training worldwide in more than eighteen countries for companies seeking certification to the standard.

Doug loved Italy. He was an avid sailor, a voracious reader, loved the movies, loved his football and how he looked forward to our "Sunday Suppa's" at Lauren and Russell's!

Memorial contributions maybe made to Florida Hospice and Palliative Care.
