IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Douglas Lawrence
Gottschalck, Sr.
September 15, 1955 – May 16, 2025
Doug Lawrence Gottschalck, Sr.
Ormond Beach, FL – formerly of Greenwich, CT
1955 – 2025
Doug Lawrence Gottschalck, Sr., 69, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025. Born in York, Pennsylvania, Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warm heart and steady presence touched all who knew him.
Doug was the beloved husband of Doreen Gottschalck, with whom he shared many years of love and partnership. He was a proud father to Doug Gottschalck, Jr. (DJ) and Deanne Wood, and a cherished grandfather to William Gottschalck and brother to Kelly Gottschalck. His family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in being the head of the family—a role he fulfilled with unwavering dedication and grace.
For over 20 years, Doug worked as a night auditor at various timeshares, where he was known for his reliability, kindness, and calm demeanor. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things: watching his kids bowl, cheering for his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, and reminiscing about his days playing softball in his youth.
Doug will be remembered most for his gentle spirit, his loyalty, and the way he made everyone feel like family. Whether offering advice, sharing a laugh, or simply being there when needed, Doug was a vital part of every life he touched.
A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses and ongoing support. Contributions can be sent to Deanne Wood at 2218 Kenilworth Ave South Daytona, FL 32119 or https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-honor-douglas-gottschalck-sr?attribution_id=sl:f2aaf5a0-fde5-4eb2-8acb-7192e892c984&lang=en_US&utm_campaign=man_ss_icons&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=copy_link
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
