Passed away on April 15, 2025. He was born October 20, 1942, in Detroit, the son of Le (Couture) Hick.

A graduate of Alma High School (1961) and Ferris State University (1968), Doug lived his adult life in the Kalamazoo, MI area. He was employed by the Upjohn Company until he retired in 2001 with 33 years of service. On June 21, 1980 he married the former Carol Lynn Terpstra (Sportel), who survives, Doug is also survived by his children Christian (Bonnie) Hick of Sarasota, FL, Heather Hick of Louisville, KY, and Donald (Erin) Terpstra of Dayton OH. Also surviving are two grandsons, Trenton and Braden Terpstra, brother Richard (LouAnne) of St. Clair, MI, sister-in-law Janice (Len) Bultema of The Villages, Fl.

No services are planned. Cremains to be interred in Portage, MI.
