Douglas Arnold Hughes, son of Gerald and Gladys Hughes was born on July 16,1952, West Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada. The lord called him home on August 16, 2024. He attended Rothesay Collegiate School (RCS) in New Brunswick, Canada. Doug loved travel and cruising and he loved the family dog Maggie as all pets through the years. He followed in his Dad's career and retired after working in surveying, land and real estate. He is survived by his beloved wife and dear companion of 43 years Vickie-Lynn (Beers) Hughes, his children Jennifer (Lee) Ryan of Alabama, Katherine (Kevin) Scheller of Alabama, and two grandsons Hunter and Landon, three granddaughters Monica Ryan, Morgan Phillips, Harper Scheller, as well family members and friends. A committal of ashes will be in Saint John NB at later date.
