Douglass M. Armes, 83, of Ocala, FL passed away January 11, 2019.  Born in Framingham, MA he came to this area 43 years ago.  He was a retired electrician for Florida Power and a member of First United Methodist Church of Ocala.  Doug was a Ham Radio operator (W4LJ) and enjoyed bicycling, white water rafting, hiking and his grand kids.  He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Roberta; children, Margaret Armes of Hartford, CT, Rick (Lori) Armes of Texas, Ron (Denise) Armes of Hartford, CT, Lori Armes of Ocala and Fred (Cassie) Armes of Ocala; sister, Phyllis Cram of Dunnellon, FL; grandchildren, Amanda Holbrook, Chad Bouwens, Kenny Armes, Erica Armes, Tiffany Ruffcorn, Megan Armes, C.J. Greenwood, 2 great grandchildren, 2 nephews and 1 niece.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marion County, Legacy House or the First United Methodist Church of Ocala.  A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Ocala 1126 E.
