Obituary

Dr. Robert C. “Bob” Youngman, 81, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

Born June 20, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Bob grew up in Michigan. He attended Central Michigan University before earning his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1970. While in medical school, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. After completing his training in surgery and urology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Bob moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1977 to become the first urologist at Bert Fish Medical Center. He served the community as a physician for more than 40 years.

Bob was a passionate Michigan sports fan and athlete. An avid fly fisherman, he loved fishing Florida’s coastal waters and pursuing salmon and trout in Northern Michigan.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marcia Youngman; his children, Amy, Sarah, Rob, and Doug; his stepchildren, Thais and Bruno; his grandchildren, Craig and McKinley; his step grandchildren, Tommy and Beckham; his brothers, Jim, John, and Gene; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Blue. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Charles and Mary Elizabeth Youngman; his brothers, Dean and Bill; and his former wife, Adele, the mother of his children.

A private burial will take place at Daytona Memorial Park. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.
