Dwight  L Lanford was  born on July 6, 1946 in Mobile, AL to Ruby Cantrell and Paul Lanford.  Dwight passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on January 20, 2020.  He is survived by his wife, Susan of 32 years; their children; Connie, Jay and Chris; his two sons by a prior marriage, John and Jacob; his brother Phillip and sister Paulette ; his 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.  Dwight loved his country and served it honorably in the U.S. Army for 23 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was proud of his service.  He served as the 4 Regimental Sergeant Major of the JAG Corps and enjoyed his time at the Pentagon and Presidio of San Francisco.  He was a wonderful loving husband who told Susan til the end that he loved her.  He was the most supportive and loving Dad that Connie, Jay and Chris could have asked for when they were blessed to have him come into their lives.  Dwight will be missed greatly.He was a wonderful husband, father , brother and friend.
