Hamp was born in Shenandoah, VA. He served our nation in the US Army in Korea and worked in Pharmaceuticals manufacturing. He was a Free and Accepted Mason, BPOElks, Moose and enjoyed golfing, making wine, woodworking and furniture refinishing. He was a Lutheran by faith. He leaves to cherish his memory  his children Margaret Ann Coleman, Belinda Hensley and two grandchildren.
