Earl James McCart Jr., 74, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on November 21, 2024. Jim was born on August 7, 1950, in Granite City, IL, to parents Earl Sr. and Shirley (Skinner) McCart. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree and worked as a bank loan officer at Leader Financial Mortgage for 22 years. After retiring, he became a real estate owner.
Jim moved to Florida in November 2013 with his loving wife, Jollibee, and son, Rico McCart. For the past five years, he worked as a Public Safety Officer with Lee Health.
Full of life and energy, Jim enjoyed playing sports such as football, basketball, and softball during his youth. He also loved skiing and diving. After retirement, he remained active by coaching Little League baseball for several years and enjoyed watching Rico's baseball games. Additionally, Jim was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Jollibee McCart of Cape Coral, FL; son Rico McCart of Cape Coral; son Jeffrey McCart, who resides in the Netherlands; his granddaughter, Ameeda, his cousin Claudia Tonsor and nephews and nieces in Illinois, Richard (Judith) McCart, James McCart, and Tori (Dillon) McCart; Dalton, Natasha, Lauren, Payge, Abby, Emma and with many other loving friends and relatives. He also leaves behind a wide circle of loving friends and family members in Illinois, Missouri, and the Philippines. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl James McCart, Sr.; his mother, Shirley McCart; his daughter, Melissa McCart; his niece Lana Godar; his grandfather, Uva Skinner; his grandmother's mother, Bertha; his brother, Richard McCart; his Aunt Skippy Tonsor; his friend Bill and Leon Dean and many more of his friends that had passed. In honoring Jim's wishes, there will be no memorial service, but his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
