Earlene Marie Gibbons Hillenbrand passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside on April 8, 2025. Earlene was born January 25, 1968, to Frank and Mary Justice Gibbons in Pittsburgh, PA where she spent most of her life until she moved to the Villages Florida in July of 2024. Earlene attended high school at Saint Benedict's Academy in Pittsburgh and kept in close contact with many of her high school friends. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary (Cissy) Lippert, and brother Frank (Butch) Gibbons. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael Hillenbrand, son Brandon Hillenbrand and his wife Brianna Hillenbrand, sister Marcia (Marcy) Clarke and her husband William, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Earlene had a deep passion for all animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed crafting, vacationing in the Caribbean with family and friends, hosting Halloween parties, and just living her life to the fullest. Having fun and being with her loved ones was what Earlene coveted the most. Everywhere she went, her smile and laughter would light up the room!

Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Cornerstone Hospice who, along with her long time friend, Michelle Leddon, ensured that Earlene was kept comfortable and able to rest peacefully at home.

Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, April 26 at 10:00am at Saint Cyril Church, 3854 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.  A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Sieb's pub at 3382 Babcock Blvd from 12 noon to 2pm.  To honor Earlene's fun spirit, please wear your favorite, Church appropriate, beach attire (sun dress or Hawaiian shirt or blouse).
