Echo Gay Gardner, age 74, died after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in Port Orange, Florida. Echo is survived by her one sister, Tara Dee Nault, née Harden (spouse, Roger), three children: daughter, Tracey Crotty Portigo, née Savard (spouse, Gary), of Port Orange, Florida, son, Peter Matthew Gardner, (spouse, Nickole) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and son, Richard Allen Gardner, Jr., of Manchester, New Hampshire. She is further survived by her seven grandchildren, Derek Crotty (spouse, Heather), of Port Orange, Florida, Patrick Gardner, of Manchester, New Hampshire, Madison Gardner, of Newmarket, New Hampshire, Colbie Gardner, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Tanner Portigo, of Seattle, Washington, Jack Gardner, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Olivia Gardner, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Charlotte Gardner, of Newmarket, New Hampshire. Echo is preceded in death by her following loved ones: husband, Richard Allen Gardner, Sr., father, Kenneth Earl "Pop-H" Harden, mother, Wilma Helen "Skip" Harden, née Pollard, sister, Carey Gwen Simard Hall, née Harden, and brother, Dwight Kenneth Harden. Echo was born on October 31, 1947, in Goffstown, New Hampshire to parents, Kenneth and Wilma Harden. She graduated from Goffstown High School, Goffstown, New Hampshire, in 1965. Echo would go back and forth between living in Florida and New Hampshire. Echo was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Echo enjoyed reading, spending time on the beach sitting in her chair, decorating and doing home projects in her home, and spending time with her dog, Eddie. Her family and friends will always remember her as a person you could always call upon when you needed someone to listen and be supportive in life decisions and situations. A small private family funeral will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, in Port Orange, Florida. A celebration of Echo's life will be scheduled for sometime this summer, 2022, in New Hampshire. Donations can be sent in Echo's honor and love of animals to Southeast Volusia Humane Society, at 1200 S. Glencoe Road, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, 32168.
