Edith LaVerne Chivers, age 87, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great mother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday December 6th 2018 at her home in New Smyrna Beach surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 16, 1931 in New Franklin Missouri to Pollie King and Mayburn King.

She was an amazing woman, caring and compassionate towards all, with unbelievable strength until the very end. She loved nature and animals, taking in strays and caring for them. Children were her life. She babysat neighborhood children, worked in the church daycare, and had 6 children of her own.

She's preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Chivers Jr. and her daughter Janice Yankee. She is survived by sons Jeff Chivers and Greg Chivers. Daughters Kathy Chivers, Lainie Chivers, and Alanna Leach. Grandchildren Eric Millsap, Sam Yankee, Kyle Chivers, Rhiannon Bowen, and Athena Herman. Great grandchildren Tyler Millsap, Ryker Millsap, Kristiona Chivers, Aleah Chivers, Johnathon Chivers, Kyle Chivers Jr., Kali Chivers, Arionnah Cunnif and Tanner Cunnif.

She is dearly loved by many, and will be missed by all.
