IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edith May
Hites
February 6, 1938 – January 31, 2026
Edith Hites passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and quiet devotion to others. She will be remembered most for the way she loved—freely, completely, and without hesitation.
A devoted caregiver and talented seamstress, Edith was known throughout Zellwood Station as someone who could always be counted on. Whether she was mending clothes, offering a helping hand, or simply sitting with someone who needed company, Edith gave her time and care generously. She truly loved everybody and always made time for anyone, a gift that touched countless lives and will not be forgotten.
In her quieter moments, Edith found joy in puzzles of all kinds, especially traditional and word puzzles. These moments reflected her thoughtful nature and her love for simple, meaningful pleasures.
Edith is survived by her daughters, Sandy Hammond and Jody Strauss, and her sons, Doug Ralph and John Ralph. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Morrow.
Though no formal services are planned at this time, Edith’s life will be honored in the hearts of all who knew her. Her warmth, patience, and unwavering kindness will continue to live on through her family and the many people she cared for throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VITAS Hospice in her memory.
