Edmund George Balducci, born in Brooklyn, NY on June 23, 1931.  Ed, at the age of 90, succumbed to cancer and 
passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Balducci, of Port Orange, FL, his three sons; Ed Balducci, of Hernando, MS,
Brian Balducci, of San Clemente, CA, and Karl Balducci, of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, his half-sister, Barbara
Speroni, of Apopka, FL, along with 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his
father, Edmund M. Balducci and mother Helen Frangos, his sister, Joan Ross and former wife Genevieve Balducci.

Ed graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1953.  This is where he
met the mother of his children. He received a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of 
Florida in 1966.

After completing ROTC in 1953, he was commissioned 1st Lieutenant in the USAF in Albuquerque, NM. He
later moved to Syracuse, NY, where he started working for General Electric.  He worked for GE for 35 years
until he retired.  He was involved in the design of GE's first color TV.  Most of his career was spent in designing 
computer circuitry for the Polaris submarine missile firing system, and was Project Engineer for aspects of the
Gemini and Apollo space craft and the computer control system for the F-16 jet engine.

Ed was involved as a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts of America with his sons and the Y-Indian Guides. He
was also very active in the Episcopal Church.  He often made generous contributions to Tunnels to Towers
Foundation, DAV, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Shriners' Hospital for Children.  He loved to fly in
his private airplane and was an avid ballroom, round and square dancer.  He liked touring and taking cruises all
over the world.  His favorite life-time hobby was photography.

A memorial service is scheduled for November 6, 2021, at Grace Episcopal Church in Port Orange, FL at
10am, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.  All are welcome to attend and remember Ed's life and 
friendship.  Donations can be sent to Grace Episcopal Church in Port Orange, FL, All Saints Episcopal Church
in Franklin, NC, or the American Cancer Society.
