Edward “Ed” C. Stapp Jr. of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on March 6th, 2026 after struggling with Alzheimer’s. Ed was born on April 12th, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama to Eddie and Faye Stapp. Ed spent most of his childhood in Orlando, Florida. He was the oldest of 4 children. He was known as “Buster” to most of his family. Ed married the love of his life, April in 1973. Ed was a loving father to his two sons. He enjoyed skiing, sports, church and spending time with his family. Ed was a dedicated provider for his family. He spent most of his successful career in insurance and healthcare finance. His career led to several moves including California and Colorado. He was known for being a hard worker. His family remembers him as kind, easy going and supportive. He was enjoyable to be around and his grandkids loved being with their “Pop Pop.” Ed was a man of faith and his favorite bible verse was Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

He was preceded in death by his parents. Ed is survived by April, his loving wife of 53 years, his son Wes and wife Bonnie and his son Aaron and wife Lindsay. He leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Coleman, Zach, Madison, Taylor, Emma, Wyatt, Brady and Grayson. Ed is also survived by 3 siblings Lex, Tracy, and Leslie. A celebration of life will be held at 11am on April 24th, 2026 at Evolve Church 10564 2nd Avenue in Ocoee, Florida 34761.
