Edward Roy Gillis, 78, former resident of New Smyrna Beach died Friday, March 20, 2009 at a local care center under the care of Hospice.   Mr Gillis was born in Connecticut, was one of six children of the late William E and Helen W Gillis. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death as well as his long time partner O.H. McKenney. He is survived by a sister Elizabeth Gillis of Boston, a brother Don Gillis and wife Ann of Edgewater, and nephew Terry Bradshaw and wife Peggy of New Smyrna Beach, nieces Carol Paprocki, Margaret Bradshaw, nephews Richard Tucker, David Gillis and Robert Tucker.         Memorial services and burial will be this summer in Kingston, Rhode Island.
